Farewell

Never to be seen again, she smiled and brushed her hair

A beauty that was all but lost, a soul without a care,

The rivers raged and tossed their caps,

A tribute to the maiden fair,

For a moment, the whole world stops,

Farewell, to their maiden fair.

He holds his head in silence still,

The loss has all but killed his will,

As rivers flow with innocence,

Forgotten is that beauty stilled,

The world shall all pay penance,

For the beauty, it has killed.

The softest sounds you never hear,

Holding to your heart so near,

A beauty that was all but lost,

A visage gazed upon so clear,

We all shall pay a deadly cost,

For our ignorance has brought us here.
